Fellow travellers on diverging paths? German constitutional law and human rights

Join us for this event that will explore the relationship between the Basic Law and Human Rights, particularly the ECHR. Speakers Prof. Michaela Hailbronner and Prof. Başak Çalı will discuss the BVerfG’s constitutional jurisprudence, its “value-formalism” approach, and the stance adopted by the Court towards the European legal order and its implications for the defense of the rule of law and human rights on a European level.

This event is hosted by the Centre for Fundamental Rights as part of the Fundamental Rights in Practice event series, in collaboration with the Student Advisory Board for the Centre for Fundamental Rights.
